What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

Day 4

ADELAIDE AND MARY RIVER FLOODPLAINS

Experience the true Northern Territory outback with your own private helicopter – doors on or off? It’s up to you. The view is simply spectacular as you fly over the Adelaide and Mary River floodplains. Teeming with wildlife this ecosystem hosts the highest density salt water crocodile population in the world, an abundance of water buffalo, wild boar, wallabies, brumbies, dingoes and thousands of waterfowl, including jabirus and brolgas.

An airboat awaits to whizz you around the wetlands, where you will be eye level with these amazing creatures as we follow them across the floodplains in the comfort and safety of your own private tour. (B)

Day 5

DARWIN

Today is yours to explore Darwin at your own pace. Alternatively, relax in the comfort of your accommodation as you prepare for the coming days in the Kimberley. (B)

Day 6

BOARD CORAL EXPEDITIONS IN DARWIN

It’s time to board your ship and begin your aquatic adventure. As you cross Cambridge Gulf and sail into Western Australian waters, the expedition staff will give you an informative introduction to the Kimberley. Meet fellow travellers and the friendly crew at the Captain’s welcome drinks.

OVERNIGHT: 10 nights Coral Expeditions (B,L,D)

Day 7

CORAL EXPEDITIONS, KING GEORGE RIVER AND FALLS

Discover the first of the Kimberley’s ‘big’ rivers, the mighty King George. Board specially-designed excursion vessel Xplorer, and explore scenic gorges, then take to the inflatable Zodiacs and cruise close to the base of magnificent King George Falls. This is the tallest single-drop waterfall in Western Australia, towering 80 metres above the river. Visit secluded Tranquil Bay and feel the sand between your toes as you explore. (B,L,D)

Day 8

CORAL EXPEDITIONS, VANSITTART BAY DC3 AND JAR ISLAND

Join your expedition leader on a walk across salt flats to view the wreckage of a US Air Force DC3 which crash landed on the beach during World War II. The it’s on to Jar Island where together with our Guest Lecturers, you’ll discover history of a more ancient heritage, with the fine examples of the Kimberley’s mysterious Bradshaw (Gwion Gwion) paintings – dating back 20,000 years. (B,L,D)

Day 9

CORAL EXPEDITIONS, HATHAWAY’S HIDEAWAY AND MITCHELL FALLS

After anchoring in Winyalken Bay, travel ashore to explore the maze of natural sandstone caves known as Hathaway’s Hideaway. Consider an optional scenic heli-flight over the Mitchell Plateau for close up views of the mighty four-tiered Mitchell Falls (additional expense). There’s no better way to finish the day than with a spectacular Indian Ocean sunset and a gourmet barbeque on the beach. (B,L,D)

Day 10

CORAL EXPEDITIONS, BIGGE ISLAND AND CAREENING BAY

At Bigge Island, your Guest lecturer will reveal extraordinary Wandjina and Bradshaw rock art, and the mythology that inspired these traditional art forms. Later you will explore Careening Bay, named by early explorer Phillip Parker King after his ship HMC Mermaid was careened for repairs during his second voyage of discovery in the Kimberley. Visit the remarkable boab tree bearing the inscription ‘HMC Mermaid – 1820’, still clearly visible almost 200 years later. (B,L,D)

Day 11

CORAL EXPEDITIONS, PRINCE REGENT RIVER AND KING CASCADES

Cruise the mighty Prince Regent River aboard Xplorer to breathtaking King Cascades, an unusual waterfall cascading over terraced rock formations. Enjoy a picnic lunch at beautiful Camp Creek, capped off with a cooling dip in the freshwater pools. (B,L,D)

Discover the reef’s diverse marine life including turtles, manta rays and reef sharks, then enjoy a cruise through scenic Doubtful Bay. (B,L,D)

Day 13

CORAL EXPEDITIONS, RAFT POINT

Your cruise continues through Kuri Bay, home of the south sea pearl industry. Travel ashore at imposing Raft Point where you’ll be fascinated by a secluded, Aboriginal rock art gallery of Wandjina art and some of the Kimberley’s most well-preserved Bradshaw Paintings (Gwion Gwion). Explore Red Cone Creek. (B,L,D)

Day 14

CORAL EXPEDITIONS, HORIZONTAL FALLS AND BUCCANEER ARCHIPELAGO

Explore the Buccaneer Archipelago, home to over 800 islands. In Talbot Bay, the region’s 12 metre tides create an amazing spectacle: the Horizontal Falls, described by legendary naturalist Sir David Attenborough as “one of the greatest natural wonders in the world”. The amazing power of the falls is revealed when the tide turns, forcing millions of litres of water to rush through the narrow gaps between cliffs. Board the Zodiacs for an exhilarating ride through the Falls, then explore the stunning white sands and clear waters at Silica Beach on Hidden Island.

Day 15

CORAL EXPEDITIONS, LACEPEDE ISLANDS

Explore Pender Bay and subject to weather and tides, visit the Lacepede Islands, a series of low islands of coarse sand and coral rubble lying on top of a platform reef. This nature reserve is an Important Bird Area, supporting up to 18,000 breeding pairs of brown boobies - possibly the largest population in the world. Board the Zodiacs and explore the island’s lagoon, keeping an eye out for marine birdlife including Australian pelicans, frigate birds, egrets, gulls and terns. The islands are also Western Australia’s most significant breeding grounds for the green turtle, often seen nesting here. As the sun fades, reflect on this wonderful expedition with new-found friends as you enjoy the Captain’s farewell drinks. (B,L,D)
