Commence in Adelaide on Tuesday (or Friday), finishes in Darwin on the following Monday (or Thursday).

Check in to your accommodation after exploring the food and wine capital at your leisure.

Day 2


As far as gourmet experiences go, today you are about to indulge in one of Australia’s best. The legendary Penfolds Magill Estate, where some of the world’s great wines are produced, is your venue for an epicurean adventure you’ll never forget.Make your way from the hotel to Penfolds Magill Estate by your own arrangements, ready to enjoy tastings, including Grange, in the Estate’s private rooms, before heading to the Magill Estate Cellar Door for a sumptuous lunch. Day 3


Today is yours to explore one of Australia’s most elegant and sophisticated cities. If you’d like to get right to the source of that gourmet experience by visiting another wine-growing region, McLaren Vale is a perfect option. (B)


McLaren Vale Winery Experience  $ 180 per person (2023). $220 per person (2024).

A tour to McLaren Vale along the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula includes four cellar door experiences and a delicious restaurant lunch. The region is best known for its Shiraz but expert vignerons will explain why Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay grapes also thrive in this unique microclimate.

Day 4


Today, your boutique wine and food touring continues with a visit to the historic Northern Barossa with its 80 cellar doors. You’ll even visit one of the oldest vineyards in the world where Shiraz vines were planted in 1843. Enjoy running commentary from your driver as you make your way towards the fabulous Barossa Valley Region. You will be guided though some of the best wines South Australia has to offer. Tours are small groups up to 8 people only to ensure a relaxed and unhurried day. Whether you preferred or white, there will be something to tantalise and delight with tastings at 3 wineries throughout the day, anda delicious lunch with an accompanying glass of wine included in your tour. Day 5


Board The Ghan in Adelaide for an iconic showcase journey of inland Australia. As the train leaves the city heading for the Flinders Ranges and beyond, the dramatic changes in landscape will become a familiar highlight of the next two days. OVERNIGHT: 2 nights The Ghan (B,L,D) 

Day 6


After your first night enjoying the fine dining and relaxed luxury of this iconic train, you’ll wake to an unforgettable outback sunrise at Marla –  a remote outpost 160 kilometres from the Northern Territory border that marks the start  of the Oodnadatta Track. Enjoy the magnificent outback scenery pass you by as you make your way to Alice Springs. (B,L,D)

Day 7


When the landscape transforms into rocky gorges and fast-flowing canyon streams, prepare to experience one of the Top End’s most impressive natural wonders. Continue to Darwin where your journey concludes. (B,L)

Advance Purchase Fares must be booked and paid for in full a minimum of six months in advance. Only limited number of these fares available per departure and are subject to availability.

Flexible Fare must be paid in full when booking. Fully refundable up until 24 hours before departure. Journey Beyond reserve the right to charge Third Party Fees if you chose to cancel.

Everyday Fare
requires a 25% deposit when booking and the balance two months before you depart.

Gold Premium cabins available from April 2024.

Children aged 4-15 inclusive receive a 20% discount off the accompanying adult fare.
Children 0-3 free in existing bedding. All prices in Australian dollars (AUD).
