In addition to the information in the booklet above, new excursions will feature in Adelaide, the Barossa Valley, Broken Hill and will appeal to sporting fans, food and wine enthusiasts and history buffs.
For those onboard the Indian Pacific travelling from Sydney to Perth they will be able to choose from the existing Off Train Excursions and the following:
- A behind the scenes tour of the South Australian Museum in Adelaide. The museum is home to the largest Australian Aboriginal collection in the world and also features galleries on the early Pacific and ancient Egyptian people. Following a tour, guests will enjoy a sumptuous dinner in the museum and delve into a fascinating talk from one of South Australia’s leading natural scientists.
- For Platinum Service guests, the stunning St Hugo Winery in the Barossa Valley is a new option. The St Hugo experience includes a private estate tour and wine tastings concluding with dinner at the Yalumba Estate.
- For all guests joining the Indian Pacific in Adelaide, there is now a complimentary pre-boarding dinner at the Adelaide Parklands Terminal.
- McLaren Vale, south of Adelaide.. This renowned grape-growing region will offer guests cheese and wine tastings at Coriole, topped off with a three-course meal at the Star of Greece, one of the region’s most renowned restaurants boasting stunning sea views.
