The journey begins as you board the train at Alice Springs around midday and soon after pulling away from the station you enjoy your first culinary experience when lunch is served, along with a selection of fine wines. As we pass through the harsh yet beautiful outback, enjoy the comforts of the train and catch up with other guests. The day soon drifts into late afternoon and a pre-dinner drink or two before you enjoy your second culinary delight as dinner is served.
We stop in the desert just after dinner and this is where you are able to get off the train and see the Milky Way as you have never seen it before –a black velvet blanket studded with a billion, sparkling diamonds. The stars in the outback have to be seen to be believed.
A comfortable sleep is followed by a sumptuous breakfast as you pass through the ancient and awesome Flinders Ranges before arriving in Adelaide in the early afternoon.
