You board the cool, air-conditioned comfort of the train in Darwin and depart mid-morning. Soon after pulling away from the platform there is time for a cool drink or leisurely cuppa, before a beautifully presented, modern Australian lunch is served along with a selection of fine wines.
The famous Top End township of Katherine is the stunning and much anticipated stop where you can enjoy a number of Off Train Experiences that take in the cultural significance, Indigenous and early settler history and of course, the simply spectacular natural beauty of the region.
Departing Katherine in the early evening, more stories and experiences are shared with fellow travellers before dinner and then followed by more socialising and perhaps a nightcap.
After a comfortable night’s sleep, you awake in the remarkable Red Centre. Soon after breakfast, arrive and disembark in Alice Springs ready for a day of exploration.
Here you have the opportunity to embark on one of the included Off Train Experiences, taking in the delights of this famous outback town. A full day in Alice Springs gives you ample opportunity to visit the town landmarks, get up close and personal with Australia's incredible flora and fauna or explore the Alice at your own leisure.
At this point you may choose to upgrade with the ultimate outback experience; an intimate scenic fixed wing flight over Uluru and Kata Tjuta. You will then return to the train to collect your belongings as your journey comes to an end.
